About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant who specialises in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will be working one-to-one with a Year 1 pupil, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing classroom environment. Your role is vital in ensuring the child’s individual needs are met, fostering confidence, independence, and a positive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one support to a Year 1 pupil with additional needs
  • Implementing tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour, and emotional well-being
  • Assisting with activities that promote inclusion and engagement
  • Monitoring and recording progress, and providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • Supporting the child’s development of social skills and independence
  • Promoting a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for the pupil

Candidate Requirements

  • A recognised, qualified Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working in a UK school, supporting children with SEN
  • Prior experience working one-to-one with pupils with additional needs is essential
  • Strong understanding of SEN and differentiation strategies
  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
