About us

Monarch Education currently works with a large multi academy trust in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area. Our partnership with CSET- Castle School Education trust enables us to offer work consistently to Teachers and Teaching Assistants across Bristol and surrounding areas.

Our CSET Secondary site is currently looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant. The school is based in Bristol is situated in the urban area in Downend, less than 20 minutes away from the heart of the cosmopolitan vibrancy of Bristol City Centre.

The school has recently of a new Ofsted report, the report is classified as "Good" in all categories. The inspector commented on the school being rapidly improving with the best Ofsted report they have had in years, also commenting on "pupils are mostly attentive in lessons to take pride in their work. The school has had change in leaders since their last visit which has impacted in the school improving.'

There is excellent transport links from the South Wales, Gloucester and Stroud areas. The school believes in the safety, care and environment for the children to be able to grow and achieve the best they can in life.

About the role

The successful applicant will have previous experience working with pupils who experience moderate learning difficult. You will be an excellent communicator, with a patient attitude to learning. You will be a good listener, with a calm and gentle approach towards pupils and their needs. You will be expected to provide 1:1 support as well as small group work activities, taking instruction from senior leaders and teachers within the setting.

Core Responsibilities;

  • 1:1 education to pupils with special educational needs
    * Reporting to senior leaders, parents and external agencies on progress of pupil(s)
    * Monitoring behaviour and keeping disruption to low levels
  • Understanding individual pupils needs, and accessing resources to aid support
  • Delivering small group tasks and supporting with underachieving pupils in and out of lessons
