About us

Monarch education currently work with a large multi academy trust in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area. Our partnership with CLF- Cabot learning federation Trust enable us to offer work consistently to Teachers and Teaching assistant across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Our CLF secondary site are currently recruiting for a lead Cover Supervisor. The school is based in Thornbury, situated in suburb area of South Gloucestershire, about 12 miles (19 km) north of Bristol.

The schools last Ofsted inspection in 2018, awarded a "Good" in all categories. The inspectors commented on the school being "Rapidly improving school. Leaders and teachers are working effectively together to improve all key aspects of school life" "Pupils treat each other well. They are lively and friendly. Relationships between pupils and teachers are warm and respectful."

The school has around about 1200 students, the school is a larger than average size secondary school with students age ranging 11 to 19. There are some great facilities within the school for both students and teachers. About The Role

The school need someone to take charge of the cover for the school as well as cove lessons if and when is needed. The school will happily accept a cover supervisor that doesn't want to take the lead role. The role includes teaching both KS3 and KS4 Including exam groups, no set tutor group but would be asked to cover tutors due to staff absent.

The role is starting 1st September full time on a temp to perm basics. The role would become permanent for the right candidate.

Core Responsibilities;

  • Leading whole classes while cover teachers are away
  • Dealing with challenging behaviour in the classroom
  • Making sure all students are focused and on track to meeting the lesson objectives
  • Prepare the classroom for lessons
  • Help any students who are struggling with the work set for their cover lessons
  • Assist teachers in planning lessons
  • Organise cover in the absence of their regular teacher
