Behaviour Support Assistant

£1760 - £2000 per month

Monarch Education are working in Partnership with a Primary School in the Irlam area of Salford. The Headteacher is looking for a support TA to work 1:1 with a pupil they have who has SEMH needs.

The successful candidate would be working with the pupil on a 1:1 basis in the classroom to ensure they can access learning, are engaged in the classroom, not disrupting others and are interacting with peers. You will need to support them to ensure they can regulate their emotions and manage outbursts by understanding what triggers them and how to overcome this.

The pupil, when working with the right candidate, achieves well in school. He has a keen interest in Sport and as such a candidate who has this shared interested would be preferred but isn’t essential. You will need to have experience of supporting young people with behaviours that challenge, this doesn’t need to have been in a school setting but may be from coaching, youth work or voluntary work with young people. You will need to have a resilient nature and be committed to working with the pupil to build a positive relationship with him so that he can reach his true potential in school.

The role would be Mon to Fri full time, term time only, 08:30 to 15:30, it is an ongoing role which follows the funding allocated for the pupil.

The school is located in the Irlam area of Salford and is an Academy that is part of a localised Multi Academy Trust so works closely with other Salford Schools. It has been graded as Good by OFSTED and prides itself on being a welcome school that provides a supportive nature for those working there.
