Monarch Education is partnering with a North Birmingham school to find a well-equipped, confident individual to join the team as a Caretaker!

Your Role:

• Ensure the school is a safe, welcoming, and clean environment.
• Complete maintenance tasks to a high standard.
• Resolve day-to-day site issues.

Responsibilities:

• Perform non-specialist maintenance (plumbing, glazing, carpentry, decorating).
• Handle daily fixings to maintain the school’s presentation and function.
• Inspect and monitor the building’s cleanliness and safety.
• Implement emergency and security procedures.
• Liaise with the site manager for external maintenance support.
• Conduct regular checks and necessary repairs on school vehicles.
• Act as a key holder and respond to alarm callouts.

Desired Candidate:

• Experience in maintenance and caretaking roles.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, COSHH, and risk assessments.
• Understanding of building cleaning standards.
• Ability to record and report maintenance observations.
