Cover Supervisor

Monarch Education is currently seeking experienced Cover Supervisors to work across a range of schools in Birmingham. This role of a cover supervisor involves delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher, supporting students, and maintaining a structured and focused learning environment.

We work with a wide network of schools across Birmingham and take the time to match people properly with the right settings. Many of our candidates have gone on to secure permanent roles, and we’re looking for reliable, skilled individuals who are ready to work and make a real impact.

This is an excellent opportunity for a cover supervisor who already has experience in education and is seeking flexible, long-term work across a variety of schools. You’ll be working with students of different age groups and abilities, helping maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and supervise lessons using pre-set plans in the absence of the class teacher.
• Keep students engaged and on task throughout the lesson.
• Provide support and clarification to students as needed.
• Uphold school behaviour policies and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
• Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate school staff.
• Follow health and safety procedures during lessons and break times.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and classroom dynamics.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience working in schools or with children in an educational setting.
• Be confident managing classroom behaviour and engaging students.
• Be flexible and able to cover a range of subjects and year groups.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Hold a DBS check (or be willing to apply for one).
