Monarch Education are working a prestigious school in the South Birmingham area are in search of an exceptional Humanities Teacher to join their team from September 2024. This role would be for a term and then an opportunity for temp to permanent should both school and candidate be happy.

Position: Humanities Teacher

Start Date: September 2024 (Immediate start)

Location: South Birmingham B32

Responsibilities:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will be an integral part of the dynamic faculty, responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive learning experience for students. Your main duties will include:

  • Delivering thought-provoking lessons: Develop and deliver inspiring lesson plans that cover a range of humanities subjects, such as history, geography, literature, and social studies.
  • Nurturing critical thinking: Encourage students to think critically, analyse various perspectives, and express their ideas eloquently.
  • Cultivating a passion for learning: Instil a love for the humanities in students by making the subjects come alive through interactive and immersive teaching methods.
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion: Create an inclusive classroom environment that embraces diversity and respects the unique backgrounds and perspectives of each student.
  • Providing constructive feedback: Assess and provide timely feedback to students on their academic progress, empowering them to continuously improve.
  • Collaborating with colleagues: Work closely with other educators to coordinate interdisciplinary projects and enhance the overall learning experience.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a talented and dedicated educator who meets the following criteria:

  • QTS or Master’s degree in Education, Humanities, or a related field.
  • Relevant teaching experience in the humanities, preferably at the secondary level teaching KS & 4.
  • Strong knowledge of diverse humanities subjects and the ability to teach them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
