Level 3 KS1 SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Balsall Heath, Birmingham
Contract Type: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Term Time Only

Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Monarch Education are working with a Primary school who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive KS1 team and help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND in KS1, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that promotes independence and confidence.
  • Support pupils with a range of needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional challenges.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with SEND pupils, ideally within a KS1 setting.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
