Mental Health Youth Teaching Assistant
Location of school: DE3
Start date: As soon as possible
Contract: Temporary and Full time 8:15am – 3:30pm
Pay: £90-£110 per day (ranges based on payroll choice)
We are currently supporting a secondary Special Educational Needs school who are in need of Mental Health Youth Teaching Assistants to support students aged 11-16 with Autism, ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.
It is a very challenging environment so experience and knowledge with SEND and SEMH children or young adults is essential.
You will need a DBS on the update service for this role (we can also provide one for you).
Responsibilities:
– Using CPOMs to report incidents
– Support students who are non-verbal
– Supporting students with future aspirations and job opportunities
– Supporting students with ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities or who experience anxiety and/or depression
– Working with students on an EHCP
– Monitor and record a students progress and behaviour
– Manage very challenging behaviours
– Work closely with Curriculum Leaders and Site Lead Teachers
