Primary Cover Teacher

Area: Kettering, Northamptonshire

Salary: £140-£200 p/day (salary dependant on the candidate holding QTS)

Start date: As soon as possible

Monarch Education are looking for two Cover Teachers with the relevant qualifications or references needed for Teaching in UK Schools. Candidates need to be flexible and can work on a casual basis.

Travel is restricted for candidates on public transport.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Higher level Teaching Assistant qualification (HLTA)
• Have Teaching experience or references commenting on their experience as an Unqualified Teacher
• Have a sound knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
• Worked for an agency previously offering cover work
• Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
• Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children
• Have excellent behaviour management skills
• Be able to plan lessons thoroughly or follow other plans created by Teachers
• Lead a class of 20-30 children
• Work on a casual basis

Main Responsibilities:

• Covering Primary subjects for a class of 20-30 children
• Supporting SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) children with their work and instructing TA’s to work 1:1 with these pupils when needed
• Managing difficult behaviours
• Taking the register
• Supervising on lunch and break times
• Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
• Building relationships with staff and pupils
• Collecting evidence of children’s work to support their assessments
• Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the children’s progress
