Monarch Education is seeking an experienced and highly organised School Administrator to join a well-established primary school in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in school administration, with experience using Arbour or BROMCOM systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment and is dedicated to ensuring the smooth running of school operations while providing excellent support to both staff and parents.

Key Responsibilities of a School Administrator:

Administrative Support:

  • Provide general administrative support to the school, including answering phones, responding to emails, and managing the school’s reception area.
  • Assist with managing student data, records, and files in line with school policies, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Support the headteacher and senior staff with the preparation of reports, schedules, and documentation.
  • Help maintain accurate attendance records for all students, and update the school’s system accordingly.
  • Assist with communications to parents and carers, including letters, notices, and school newsletters.

System Management:

  • Utilise Arbour or BROMCOM school management systems to input and manage student information.
  • Ensure all student data is accurate and up to date within the system, including contact details, attendance records, and medical information.
  • Generate reports using Arbour or BROMCOM as requested by the school leadership or other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

School Operations:

  • Support with managing school timetables, including class lists, staffing, and resources.
  • Help organise school events, including trips, parent meetings, and extracurricular activities.
  • Handle general school correspondence and distribution of information to parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Provide administrative support for school policies and procedures, ensuring they are followed consistently across the school.

Support to Senior Leadership:

  • Provide support to the headteacher and leadership team with various administrative tasks, including meeting preparation and the coordination of school activities.
  • Assist with recruitment processes, such as advertising job vacancies, arranging interviews, and processing new staff documentation.
  • Maintain and update school databases and ensure that relevant data is readily available for staff.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Experience using Arbour or BROMCOM school management systems is essential.

Experience:

  • Proven experience working as a school administrator in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of school systems, office management, and data entry.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
