SEMH Learning Support Assistant

Area- Cradley Heath

Salary-£83.33-£100 Daily

Monarch Education are working with a Primary School in Cradley Heath looking for a full time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time long-term basis starting September 2024. The successful candidate will be working with children with complex needs such as ASD, Autism and SEMH. The school and staff are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of their students and are looking for somebody who has previous experience working with children of Primary age, either in a school or a similar setting.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited too):

  • Assessing the needs of pupils and using your knowledge and specialist skills to support students with a range of Special Educational Needs
  • Taking an interest in and supporting the wellbeing of students both physically and mentally
  • Monitoring progress daily, identifying areas of improvement and liaising with your class teacher
  • Building trusting relationships with students and prioritising their social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Supporting the teach with planning lessons with small groups of students, groups or individuals

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND
  • A genuine passion for working with children
  • The ability to create a nurturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding to support students who are struggling.
