SEND Support Assistant

Area: Solihull

Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:30 – 3:30

Salary: £100 – £110 per day

Start date: ASAP

Monarch education, part of affinity workforce, are working closely with an inclusive special school, supporting a broad range of learners in a diverse and caring community, including, Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, speech, language and communication difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs from EYFS – Post 16 provision college.

This is a full-time, long-term role, Monday to Friday to start ASAP for the full academic year for the right candidate.

You will NEED to have experience with either working within a special needs school or working with individuals with SEND needs, this doesn’t have to be from a school setting but a care setting too.

They are looking for someone who as a positive outlook on life, caring, compassionate, who is child centred and always willing to go the extra mile for any children in their care and to able to work well within a team.

Qualifications and Experience:

• (Preferably) hold a level 3 in supporting and learning or equivalent
• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting that we can reference in the last 2 years
• Able to control challenging behaviour
• Knowledge and understanding of SEND practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.

The school has a supportive team of staff creating a caring atmosphere around the school, with up to date educational technology and nearby public transport routes and onsite parking available on school site.
