Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant Required at a Tameside Primary School (OL7)

Location: Tameside (OL7)

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary – Term Time Only

Salary: £90-£110 per day

Are you a compassionate and qualified Level 2 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with complex needs?

Monarch Education are working closely with a warm and inclusive primary school in Tameside (OL7), who are seeking a dedicated SEN TA to join their team. This role is focused on supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), alongside other complex learning needs.

The Role:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with SLCN and other complex SEN, both in class and through targeted interventions.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
• Use a range of communication strategies, including visual aids, Makaton or PECS (if trained) to support pupil understanding and expression.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to reviews and reports.
• Foster a positive, nurturing environment that promotes independence and confidence.

Requirements:

• Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent – essential.
• Experience of working with children with complex SEN, particularly SLCN.
• Knowledge of communication strategies and tools used in SEN settings.
• Patience, empathy and a proactive approach to learning support.
