About the Role

Monarch Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils across year 3 and year 4 at a fantastic primary school in Chesterfield. The role is on part time basis however has flexibility to move towards full time.

This role offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in children’s learning and development. You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups including supporting pupils with a range of needs including SEND.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils in class and during interventions
  • Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Encouraging pupil engagement and emotional regulation
  • Delivering tailored support for children with additional needs
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (in education, care, coaching, or support roles)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Understanding of EYFS, KS1 or KS2 curriculum (desirable)
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the teaching staff to implement the KS1 and KS2 curriculum by
  • Providing booster and intervention sessions to raise standards within the classroom
  • Working with a child’s strengths and weaknesses to support their development and progress
  • Being able to build a good rapport with teachers and children alike
  • Helping to create a stimulating and motivating environment for children
