SEN Teaching Assistant – Permanent Role

Pay: £90-£100 per day (term time only)

About the Role

Monarch Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Mansfield to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, and behaviours that challenge. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent, offering consistency and fulfilment for the right candidate.

You will work both 1:1 and in small groups, delivering tailored interventions and supporting emotional regulation and engagement. The school operates across multiple sites, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Deliver targeted interventions and assist with personalised learning plans
  • Support emotional regulation and sensory needs using tools such as PECS and visual timetables
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to monitor progress
  • Promote independence, engagement, and a safe learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role
  • Background in supporting children or young people with Autism, ADHD, or developmental delay
  • Understanding of EYFS and sensory integration strategies (desirable)
  • Calm, patient, and proactive approach with a commitment to consistency
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
