Monarch Education are looking for a teaching assistant to work within a South Birmingham school with an immediate start, It’s a lovely, welcoming school who are looking to support a year 11 child who is partially deaf, this role would be for the rest of the academic year 3 days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays) supporting general classroom work and towards their GCSE’s.

The ideal candidate for this role will help teachers by supervising activities and working with the child on an individual basis. Also, getting the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

The Candidate will need:

  • Experience of supporting key stage 3 & 4 students in an educational environment.
  • To support pupils across secondary during lessons.
  • Be committed to improving standards and raising pupil attainment.
  • Experience of working with children with special needs.
  • Able to establish constructive and positive relationships with your pupil’s.
  • BSL Experience

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising group activities.
  • Setting up equipment for lessons and keeping classrooms safe and tidy.
  • Helping develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials.
  • Motivating and encouraging pupils.
  • Monitoring and recording children’s behaviour and progress.
