Job Description

Role: Early Years Teaching Assistant (Specialising in one to one)

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £325 – £375 depending on experience

Monarch Education are currently recruiting a full-time Early Years Teaching Assistant to work in a Specialist SEN Provision in Bristol that caters for EYFS – KS1 children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Autism & Complex Needs.

This is an 18-place provision, split across 3 classrooms, Pupils attending this provision have an EHCP and receive additional support as they are not currently flourishing in other educational environments.

You will have:

  • Experience of supporting pupils at Early Years Foundation Stage/ KS1
  • Able to provide individualised learning packages set by the class teacher through 1:1 support
  • The ability to closely monitoring pupil development, reporting and recording their progress
  • Support pupils to ensure they have equal access to a curriculum that allows them to reach their full learning potential.

Communication between staff and pupils at the school is key in all that they do and underpins the school’s approach to learning. Each class has a bespoke approach to communication using strategies for both children and adults to communicate effectively. This includes the use of Makaton, PECS, symbols, iPad & Smart boards, photos, Intensive Interaction, music, objects of reference and body signing.
