Job Description

Primary Teaching Assistant – Behaviour mentor

An OFSTED ‘GOOD’ primary school based in the Oldham area require a Teaching Assistant with behaviour specialisms to start in September. As a Teaching Assistant working in this ever-improving school, you will be motivated and able to work as part of a successful team and strive for success within a vibrant classroom environment.

You must have proven experience of working with children, preferably within a upper Ks1/Lower KS2 classroom setting; experience of working with children presenting as challenging and disruptive and at times, in crisis. Ideally you will possess a recognised qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

You will be expected to co-ordinate with other education professionals and the class teacher, and your role will involve –

Working with children across upper Ks1 and Lower Ks2
Working with children who need additional support to manage behaviour.
Taking direction from the class teacher
Working directly with the children in class, supporting a variety of topics
Feeding back progress to school teacher and documenting, where necessary
Working on a 1:1 basis and providing behaviour support within mainstream classes
