Autism Learning Support Assistant – Halesowen
Location: Halesowen
Hours: 35 hours per week (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
Start Date: ASAP

Monarch Education, part of Affinity Workforce, is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Autism Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive SEND school in the Halesowen area. This role involves working with primary or secondary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and a range of additional needs.

While previous experience in a school setting is advantageous, it is not essential. We welcome applicants with a genuine passion for working with children and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with children or young people (formal or informal)

• Be organised, reliable, and an excellent communicator

• Show enthusiasm for supporting and inspiring learners

• Demonstrate effective behaviour management strategies

• Have experience supporting individuals with SEND, particularly Autism

• Possess knowledge of Makaton or sign language (desirable but not essential)

Main Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher and wider team in the daily running of the classroom

• Providing 1:1 or small group support during lessons and school activities

• Assisting pupils with their learning, social development, and emotional regulation

• Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviour

• Contributing to pupil progress by collecting evidence of learning for assessment purposes
