Child Wellbeing Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated Child Wellbeing Practitioner to join our dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people at a school in Birmingham!

About the Role:

You’ll deliver evidence-based interventions in schools and colleges, providing vital support to young people experiencing emotional health and wellbeing challenges. You’ll be part of a supportive team, encouraged to innovate and contribute to a creative, child-centred environment.

Main responsibilities and duties (during and post-training):

• Deliver short-term, evidence-based interventions to children and young people.
• Conduct holistic and child-centred mental health assessments, including risk assessments.
• Work collaboratively with mental health professionals, school staff, and external agencies.
• Evaluate intervention effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure high standards of patient care.
• Liaise with Senior Mental Health Leads in schools and colleges.
• Empower children, young people, and families to make informed choices about their care.

Essential Criteria:

• Evidence of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties.
• Psychology or other health/social care/youth-related undergraduate degree.
• Proven IT skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience of working in mental health or related services.
• Knowledge of the education system.
