Monarch Education is currently seeking an experienced and organised Exams Manager to join a reputable secondary school in Birmingham. This is a full-time position, with an immediate start, providing a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong administrative and organisational skills to make an impact within an established team.

As the Exams Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of all aspects of internal and external examinations within the school, ensuring compliance with examination regulations and maintaining a positive exam experience for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration and coordination of all internal and external examinations.

  • Ensure that examination procedures comply with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) regulations and awarding body requirements.

  • Organise exam timetables, including liaising with teachers and students to ensure correct exam schedules.

  • Manage exam invigilators, including recruitment, training, and deployment.

  • Handle exam entries, ensuring accurate recording and submission of candidates for all qualifications.

  • Ensure that access arrangements for students with additional needs are organised and compliant.

  • Coordinate results day, including distributing results and providing necessary support to students and staff.

  • Maintain and manage the exams budget and ensure resources are used efficiently.

  • Keep up to date with changes to exams policies, regulations, and technology to ensure the school remains fully compliant.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Exams Officer/Manager or in a similar role within an educational setting.

  • In-depth knowledge of JCQ regulations and examination procedures.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff, students, and external exam bodies.

  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

  • Ability to manage and coordinate a team of invigilators effectively.

  • A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with exam software and systems for managing entries, results, and timetables is desirable.

  • Experience working within a school or education setting is preferred.
