Monarch Education are working closely with a SEND school in the Birmingham area who are currently looking for a teaching assistant. The school caters to students who struggle with complex medical needs and physical disabilities. The school provides care for EYFS up until Sixth Form meaning that as a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing the support and care necessary to all ages.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Building rapport with students, prioritising their emotional and physical well-being.
  • To work under the guidance of the teacher in the planning and implementation of lessons for individuals or groups of pupils with special needs.
  • Making sure all students are included, ensuring they all have equal opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Ability to manage behaviour and talk to parents and carers when needed.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children, young people or adults with SEND
  • Genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to create a nurturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding to support students who are struggling.
  • Safeguarding Level 1.
