Salary: £60-£100 per day (varied depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours of work: 35 hours a week

Monarch Education are working closely with a school who are looking for an experienced class-based TA with a good knowledge of SEN interventions This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 8.30 – 3.30pm.

Job Description:

  • Assessing the needs of students and using your knowledge and specialist skills to support students with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Ability to create a nurturing environment.
  • Supporting the classroom teacher
  • Reporting problems to the classroom teacher
  • Monitoring and evaluation of pupil progress
  • Delivering small group interventions
  • Behaviour management
  • Working closely with other Teaching staff
  • Plan and teach lessons with small groups of students, groups or individuals (if necessary)

Requirements of the candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children, young people or adults with SEND
  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a classroom setting
  • A strong team player, with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills, who can support and inspire children to learn
  • Taking an interest in and supporting the wellbeing of students both physically and mentally
  • Be willing to commute to Selly Oak Birmingham
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively in a dynamic and supportive environment
  • The ability to adapt to an ever-changing workload
  • Experience in supporting pupils will additional needs (desirable but not essential)
