Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated supply caretaker to join our team in Birmingham. This role will possibly also include responsibility of being a key holder.

The school is seeking a reliable and experienced caretaker to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation, maintenance and presentation of the school premises. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including those related to manual handling and fire safety. Additionally, applicants must have an up-to-date enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.

The successful applicant will be responsible for (but not limited too):

  • Ongoing repair and odd job work as necessary.
  • Hanging shelving and display boards
  • Supervision of maintenance work and directing on site contractors
  • Movement of furniture’s such as setting up and taking down tables and chairs
  • General upkeep of the school groups
  • Clearing rubbish, leaves, ice, and snow as appropriate
  • Inspecting school playgrounds daily
  • Liaising with the site manager and cleaning staff to ensure the work undertaken meets the standards of the school.
  • To assist the principal in the development of the use of school facilities during the normal school day and after school, to include evenings, weekends and school holidays.
  • Manage the site team (to include the cleaning team) and plan and monitor the workloads.
  • To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job
