Monarch Education is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in the heart of South Birmingham. This ongoing role is perfect for individuals looking to make a significant impact while working with children who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to supervise individual and small group activities, ensuring all students receive personalised support.
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials, maintaining a safe and tidy environment.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering their engagement and motivation.
  • Monitor and document student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers to support ongoing development.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, promoting their confidence and independence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience supporting Key Stage 3 & 4 students in an educational setting.
  • A strong commitment to enhancing educational standards and raising pupil attainment.
  • Experience working with children with special needs, demonstrating patience and understanding.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to create constructive and positive relationships with pupils.
