We’re seeking dedicated Scribes to join our team and provide vital assistance during examinations!

This is a flexible role offering the opportunity to make a real difference to students who require support during their assessments. You will be responsible for accurately recording student dictation, ensuring their responses are clearly and legibly presented to examiners.

What We Offer:

What You’ll Do:

  • Produce accurate and legible handwritten records of student dictation on examination scripts.
  • Ensure examination scripts are clear, legible, and verbatim transcriptions of student responses.
  • Adhere to examination regulations and report any incidents.
  • Liaise with students prior to examinations and participate in practice sessions.
  • Read examination questions and student responses, explaining instructions as needed.
  • Understand and respect the needs of students with disabilities in a higher education environment.
  • Collaborate with the Disability Advisory Service and relevant college/department staff.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills and a good knowledge of IT.

Who You Are:

  • Educated to degree (or equivalent) level, or possessing experience in the subject area required for scribing.
  • Possess fast, accurate, and legible handwriting and spelling.
  • Have excellent and clear communication and listening skills.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills and a good knowledge of IT.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience of scribing or taking notes in an educational environment.
  • Experience of studying at a Russell Group university or international equivalent.
