Making a Difference in the Classroom
Debrah brings years of experience to her role, including a background working with autism and her nurturing approach has made her a trusted figure in every classroom she’s worked in.
“Children look at me as an older person, and they come to me for comfort. I get on so well with the staff too – I’m very open and upfront, and I think people appreciate that.”
She recalls a moment when she was unsure about a new placement, but with encouragement from her consultant Holly, she gave it a go – and instantly connected with the school.
“By lunchtime I was like, ‘Oh my God, can I come for the rest of the week?’ They saw something in me, and that meant a lot.”
