Monarch Education have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and engaging Head of Year (non-teaching) to join the pastoral team of a secondary School based in South Birmingham. This is a full-time role to start as soon as possible, time only.
You will be working in an Outstanding Ofsted rated secondary school based in South Birmingham who are committed to providing a high standard of education for pupils between the ages of 11-19. They pride themselves on their dedication to ensuring every child receives a first-class education, in an enriching and aspiring environment where they can achieve excellent outcomes.
You will be working under the direction of pastoral manager, providing support to an assigned year group to ensure high levels of punctuality and attendance at all times. You will also be required to managing student behaviour and to overcome barriers to learning, inspiring children and helping pupils reengage with education.

Requirements of Head of Year:
- A minimum of 3 months experience as secondary school Head of Year
- Able to establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents/ carers and external agencies
- Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential.
- Able to build confidence and motivation.
- Able to remain calm and resilient under pressure
- High levels of empathy, caring, compassionate, and a good listener
- Motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work
- Excellent administrative skills
- Right to work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
- Provide a full 10-year career history and references to cover the last 2 years including current and previous employers.
