About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining the continuity of learning across the school by delivering pre‑prepared lessons in a variety of subjects. Working Monday to Friday, 8:15am-3:15pm, you’ll help ensure each class runs smoothly in the absence of the usual teacher. You’ll be responsible for creating a calm, well‑managed learning environment where students stay focused, engaged, and on task. Alongside delivering set work, you’ll provide general support to students throughout lessons and remain vigilant to any safeguarding concerns, reporting them promptly and appropriately in line with school policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre‑prepared lessons across various subjects
  • Maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment
  • Support students’ learning and wellbeing during lessons
  • Ensure all safeguarding issues are identified and reported appropriately
  • Encourage positive behaviour and uphold school values
  • Provide general classroom and school-wide support as required

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence in leading a class and promoting positive behaviour
