About the Role

Monarch Education is currently recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs within a well-regarded primary school in the Gloucester area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping children succeed both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering personalised learning activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help the pupil access the curriculum.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents.
• Support emotional regulation, communication, and social development.

Requirements:

✔ Must have previous UK school-based experience
✔ Experience working 1:1 with pupils with SEN
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ A patient, compassionate and proactive approach
✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
✔ Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
