About the Role

As a Supply English Teacher, you’ll deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students build strong skills in reading, writing, analysis, and communication. You’ll be adaptable, confident stepping into different classrooms, and committed to maintaining a calm, positive learning environment. You’ll inspire students to enjoy English, develop their confidence, and take pride in their progress. Your contribution will support the school’s dedication to high‑quality teaching and a values-driven curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative, engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Support students in developing strong literacy and analytical skills
  • Follow school policies, lesson plans, and schemes of work where provided
  • Promote a calm, structured, and purposeful classroom environment
  • Encourage curiosity, participation, and a passion for literature and language
  • Support students who need additional help with confidence, focus, or behaviour
  • Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive, community-focused ethos
  • Promote strong communication skills and a love of learning

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS or relevant secondary English teaching experience
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and support learners of all abilities
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive approach
  • Passion for English language, literature, and creative expression
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the school’s values
  • Experience in secondary education is ideal; ECTs are welcome
