About the Role
As a Supply Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well‑structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop essential scientific knowledge and practical skills. You’ll bring adaptability, subject expertise, and enthusiasm to a range of classes, establishing positive routines and fostering a purposeful, calm learning environment. You will inspire students to enjoy Science, build confidence in practical and theoretical work, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Your contribution will support the school’s commitment to high‑quality teaching and an ambitious, values‑driven curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, curriculum‑aligned Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students in developing strong scientific understanding and enquiry skills
- Follow school policies, existing lesson plans, and schemes of work where provided
- Maintain a structured, positive, and safe classroom environment
- Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence in practical investigations
- Provide additional support for students needing help with focus, confidence, or behaviour
- Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive, community‑focused ethos
- Promote a passion for learning and strong scientific communication skills
What We’re Looking For
- QTS or relevant secondary Science teaching experience
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and support students of all abilities
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to teaching
- Genuine passion for Science and helping students succeed
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and school values
- Experience in secondary education preferred; ECTs are welcome
