Supply Business Studies Teacher – Secondary School | March 2026 Start

Location: Taunton
Contract: Supply / Full Time (Monday-Friday)
Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

Are you an ambitious and knowledgeable Business Studies teacher seeking a flexible role that still provides consistency and variety? We are looking for enthusiastic Supply Business Studies Teachers to support a number of secondary schools across Taunton. Whether you specialise in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, or bring wider vocational knowledge, we welcome teachers who can deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons across KS3 and KS4.

Supply teaching is a fantastic way to broaden your teaching experiences, explore a range of school environments, and enjoy a more balanced work-life routine-without the demands often associated with permanent positions. Many short-term placements naturally progress into long-term or permanent opportunities, giving you both career flexibility and growth.

Schools in Taunton offer positive, forward‑thinking learning communities where students are encouraged to think critically, develop entrepreneurial skills, and build confidence in real-world concepts. With strong pastoral systems, excellent behaviour expectations, and a commitment to academic excellence, these schools equip young people with the skills and ambition to succeed both academically and personally.

About the Role

As a Supply Business Studies Teacher, you will deliver clear, engaging lessons to KS3 and KS4 learners, adapting easily to a variety of school settings. You will establish routines quickly, create a purposeful learning environment, and support students in developing their understanding of business operations, marketing, finance, enterprise, and wider economic principles. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students feel confident in applying business concepts to real-life contexts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver well-planned Business Studies lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
    * Support learners in developing knowledge of marketing, finance, enterprise, and business operations
    * Work in line with school policies, schemes of work, and any provided lesson materials
    * Maintain a calm, organised, and focused classroom environment
    * Promote critical thinking, independence, resilience, and problem-solving
    * Support students who may need additional help with understanding, behaviour, or confidence
    * Positively contribute to each school’s community‑driven and inclusive ethos
    * Encourage enthusiasm for business concepts, entrepreneurship, and real‑world learning

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS or relevant Secondary Business Studies teaching experience
    * Strong classroom management and confident communication skills
    * Ability to support, challenge, and motivate learners of mixed abilities
    * A flexible, proactive, and positive teaching approach
    * A genuine passion for Business Studies and developing students’ real‑world skills
    * Full commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and school values
    * Secondary experience preferred – ECTs warmly welcomed
