Monarch Education is delighted to be recruiting an experienced, passionate, and child‑centred Primary SENCO to join a nurturing and forward‑thinking primary school. As the school’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator, you will play a vital strategic role in shaping SEND provision, supporting staff development, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance, and working closely with families and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the highest quality support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and provision for pupils with SEND across the school
  • Lead on the implementation and review of the SEND Policy and School Offer
  • Coordinate and contribute to EHCP processes, annual reviews, and targeted support plans
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver high‑quality inclusive classroom practice
  • Provide coaching, training, and guidance across the staff team to ensure effective SEND provision
  • Track progress and attainment of pupils with SEND, using data to inform targeted intervention
  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, external agencies, and multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Champion the school’s inclusive ethos and drive excellence in all areas of SEND support

Ideal Candidate Attributes

  • Holds the NASENCO qualification or is currently working towards it
  • Has substantial experience supporting SEND within a primary school setting
  • Understands statutory SEND frameworks, including the SEND Code of Practice (2015)
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
  • Can confidently analyse data and use it to shape provision
  • Thrives as part of a collaborative senior leadership team
  • Is compassionate, proactive, and deeply committed to improving outcomes for all learners
  • Brings creativity, determination, and reflective practice to the role
