Monarch Education is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and enthusiastic Therapeutic Teaching Assistant to support children and young people who require additional emotional, behavioural, or therapeutic support in a school setting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide therapeutic, nurturing, and trauma-informed support for pupils with SEMH, SEND, or complex needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
  • Assist with personalised learning plans, interventions, and 1:1 or small-group sessions.
  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
  • Use relational and de-escalation approaches to support behaviour.
  • Record observations, progress, and safeguarding concerns appropriately.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Experience in SEN / SEMH support, youth work, care, mental health, or therapeutic roles.
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different needs and support strategies.
  • Background in psychology, social care, or wellbeing is desirable.
