Teaching Assistant – Special School in Kettering (Must Drive)

Monarch Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a wonderful Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Kettering. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional and complex needs.

Due to the school’s location and travel requirements, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support pupils with complex learning needs, communication difficulties, and SEMH.
  • Assist with 1:1 and small-group learning.
  • Help pupils regulate emotions, develop independence, and build confidence.
  • Prepare classroom resources and support the class teacher.
  • Use therapeutic, trauma-informed, and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Experience in SEN, SEMH, support work, care, or youth work.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Passion for supporting children in a special school setting.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (ESSENTIAL).
