Job Title: Year 2 HLTA – Full Time

Rate: £100 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Monarch Education, part of Affinity Workforce, is working with a warm, supportive primary school in Solihull to recruit an experienced Year 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This full-time role will be based within a Year 2 class, supporting learning, delivering planned interventions, and confidently covering whole-class teaching when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HLTA who is confident leading learning, managing a classroom, and supporting pupils’ academic and emotional development. The school is seeking a practitioner who uses initiative, builds positive relationships, and brings enthusiasm to the Year 2 environment.
The role is full-time, Monday-Friday, starting after half term and continuing until the end of the academic year.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have vast experience working within Year 2 or across KS1, with a strong understanding of age-related expectations and curriculum requirements.
- Be confident delivering whole-class lessons in the absence of the main teacher, following provided planning and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Be skilled in providing 1:1 and small-group interventions, supporting pupils with a range of academic and developmental needs.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with the class teacher to support whole-class teaching, learning activities, and behaviour management.
- Assist with general Year 2 classroom responsibilities, including preparing resources, supporting phonics, guided reading, and helping maintain a calm, organised learning space.
- Build warm, supportive relationships with pupils, using consistent, positive behaviour strategies.
- Demonstrate strong communication, flexibility, and a proactive, child-centred approach.
