Full-Time KS1 SEND Teaching Assistant (Year 1)
Location: Weoley Castle, Birmingham
Hours: 8:15am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Duration: ASAP until July 2026
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school team, supporting children in Year 1 who are currently working at EYFS developmental levels.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position ideal for someone with a nurturing approach, strong initiative, and a confident classroom presence. You will be supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in Year 1 with SEND, working at EYFS level
- Deliver tailored support in small groups and 1:1 settings
- Assist with phonics and early literacy development
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Support with Breakfast Club from 8:15am – 8:45am daily
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working within EYFS or KS1
- Understanding of SEND and inclusive practices
- Confidence in delivering phonics-based learning
- A proactive, caring, and adaptable approach
- Team player with excellent communication skills
