Rate: £100 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)

Monarch Education, part of Affinity Workforce, is supporting a warm and inclusive primary school in the B26 area to recruit an experienced Learning Mentor. This full-time role will involve working across Reception to Year 6, supporting children with a range of SEND and behavioural needs, both on a 1:1 basis and through structured out‑of‑class interventions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by providing targeted emotional, behavioural and academic support. You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and parents to monitor progress, encourage positive behaviour, and help pupils build confidence and resilience.

This role is ideal for someone experienced in Learning Mentor work who is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils and confident working across all primary year groups.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have strong, proven experience in a Learning Mentor role within a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrate secure knowledge of SEND, including autism, ADHD, social/emotional needs and other learning barriers.
  • Be skilled in supporting pupils with behavioural needs, using positive, consistent and nurturing strategies.
  • Deliver 1:1 mentoring, small-group support and structured out-of-class activities to promote social and emotional development.
  • Build excellent rapport with pupils, using a calm, patient and proactive approach.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, senior leaders and pastoral teams to support learning and behaviour plans.
  • Liaise confidently and professionally with parents/carers, providing updates on pupil progress and next steps.
  • Be adaptable, reliable and able to work across Reception to Year 6 as required.
