Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm
Pay Rate: £116.94 – £128.63 per day (Dependent on Experience)

Working as a Cover Supervisor allows you to experience a variety of school environments, support learning across multiple subjects, and build valuable classroom skills – all without the responsibility of planning or marking. Many of our supply roles develop into long‑term or permanent positions, making this an ideal first step into teaching or education-based careers.

About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set lessons to KS3 and KS4 classes across a variety of subjects. Your primary responsibility is to supervise the classroom, maintain expectations, and keep students on task. You do not need subject specialism – confidence, communication skills, and strong classroom presence are the key attributes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and productive
- Deliver and oversee pre-prepared lesson materials
- Maintain a calm, structured, and positive classroom atmosphere
- Apply effective behaviour management strategies
- Support students who may require additional guidance throughout the lesson
- Build positive working relationships with staff and students
- Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school values at all times

- Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, mentoring, youth groups, etc.)
- Strong classroom presence and confident behaviour management
- Clear communication and the ability to lead groups effectively
- Adaptable, reliable, and enthusiastic approach to each day
- Ability to support learners with mixed abilities and a range of needs
- Commitment to safeguarding, professionalism, and student wellbeing
- Ideal for graduates, TAs, tutors, sports coaches, or those considering teacher training
