Monarch Education is seeking an organised, proactive, and experienced Cover Coordinator to join a well-established secondary school in the B28 area. This full-time role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school by overseeing all aspects of staff cover and daily timetabling coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily staff cover, ensuring all lessons are appropriately allocated.
  • Liaise with teaching staff, support staff, senior leaders, and external agencies to organise internal and external cover.
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal systems with staff absences, cover assignments, and timetable changes.
  • Prioritise and problem-solve under time pressure, particularly during morning cover arrangements.
  • Ensure smooth communication to departments regarding staff absence and cover logistics.
  • Provide general administrative support to the school office when required.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and safeguarding.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous school-based Cover Coordinator experience is essential.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, especially in fast-paced morning periods.
  • Confident using school management systems and digital platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, proactive, and solution‑focused under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when updating schedules.
