Monarch Education is seeking an enthusiastic and committed QTS Science Teacher for an immediate start at a secondary school based in Birmingham (B26). This is a full‑time, long‑term opportunity within a supportive and forward‑thinking Science department, ideal for a passionate teacher looking for stability and impact.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspiring curiosity and supporting strong academic progress.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) that promote curiosity and progress
  • Assess and monitor pupil attainment through classwork, homework, assessments, and constructive feedback
  • Develop and contribute to schemes of work that support differentiation and challenge learners of all abilities
  • Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages scientific enquiry, collaboration, and resilience
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, including practical work and digital tools, to enhance learning
  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and wider school initiatives
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to support both academic and pastoral outcomes
  • Engage in CPD and ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice

Skills and Qualifications

  • A relevant Science degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a combined discipline)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching secondary Science (ECTs are welcome to apply)
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to differentiate effectively for diverse learning needs
  • Confidence using practical resources and educational technology
