Secondary Alternative Provision
Salary: £38,220 – £47,181 FTE (Grade J-K, points 27-36, pro rata)
Contract: Full-time, term time (39 or 42 weeks – negotiable)
Start Date: May 2026 (flexible for the right candidate)
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Professional to support students with a wide range of emotional, social and mental health needs within our Alternative Provision setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people facing significant challenges.
The Role
- Deliver one-to-one and group-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs
- Support students with anxiety, attachment difficulties, depression, neurodiversity and behavioural needs
- Use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches including CBT, DBT, sensory, play and mindfulness strategies
- Provide crisis intervention and ongoing emotional support
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral and safeguarding teams
- Support reintegration into mainstream education or progression into further education, training or employment
- Contribute to whole-school wellbeing, resilience and mental health initiatives
- Liaise with external agencies and contribute to multi-agency meetings
- Offer guidance and support to parents and carers
- Provide training and advice to staff on mental health and trauma-informed practice
About You
You will be a qualified and experienced mental health professional who is adaptable, reflective and committed to inclusion. You will be confident working in an Alternative Provision environment and passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
