Tutor – Secondary Alternative Provision

Contract: Part-time, paid on a supply basis

Salary: M1 £32,916 – M6 £45,352 FTE (hourly supply rate)

Start Date: As soon as possible

We are supporting a multi-sited Alternative Provision academy supporting young people who are permanently excluded, at risk of exclusion, experiencing emotionally based school avoidance, or have Education, Health and Care Plans. We are seeking experienced and committed teachers to join our Individual Tutor team across Northamptonshire.

The Role

As an Individual Tutor, you will work flexibly with pupils on a one-to-one basis, supporting their academic, emotional and behavioural development. You will play a vital role in ensuring pupils receive high-quality education and inclusive support tailored to their needs.

  • Provide high-quality teaching, assessment and support to individual pupils
  • Support pupils and parents/carers to maximise engagement, learning and inclusion
  • Deliver education for pupils excluded or at risk of exclusion from school
  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and equality of opportunity
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Liaise with schools, families and external agencies as appropriate
  • Contribute to professional development and CE Academy improvement processes
  • Act as Key Tutor for allocated pupils
  • Travel across the county and transport pupils where required, often at short notice

About You

You will be an experienced and resilient teacher with the ability to build strong relationships with vulnerable and challenging young people. You will be adaptable, reflective and able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
