Rate: Main Pay Scale M1- UPS3

The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold QTS qualification and to have a proven track record of strong outcomes within KS1
- Be an enthusiastic and reflective Key Stage 1 teacher with a strong understanding of child development
- Demonstrate consistently high‑quality teaching and learning that secures strong outcomes for all pupils
- Have secure knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curricula, including effective transition from Reception to Year 1
- Be confident in delivering early reading, including systematic synthetic phonics, and developing pupils’ reading fluency, comprehension and vocabulary
- Show strong practice in the teaching of early writing, including phonics application, handwriting, sentence structure and composition
- Use assessment effectively to inform planning, adapt teaching and support pupils at different starting points
- Have high expectations of behaviour, learning and achievement for all children
- Create a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where all pupils feel safe, supported and motivated
- Be skilled at building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and recognising the importance of emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and leaders to improve outcomes across the phase
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and carers, encouraging engagement in children’s learning
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times
- Be adaptable, resilient and solution‑focused, responding positively to change
- Show enthusiasm for contributing to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and events
- Engage proactively with professional development and be reflective about improving practice
- Bring energy, warmth and a positive attitude to the school team
