History Teacher Required – South Birmingham – September 2026 Start

Job Type: Full Time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: £165-£262 per day (dependent on experience)

Monarch Education is recruiting a motivated History Teacher to join a thriving secondary academy in South Birmingham from September 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan and implement engaging schemes of work that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress to ensure achievement of target grades.
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised practical environment in line with health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through departmental meetings and extracurricular activities.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience teaching History within KS3 and KS4
  • Familiarity with GCSE History specifications
  • Experience working in a high-expectations school environment
  • Strong behaviour‑for‑learning strategies
  • Ability to build respectful, positive relationships with pupils
  • Commitment to wider school values and enrichment opportunities
  • Willingness to contribute to department planning and development
