Role Overview
We are seeking General Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Bridgwater, supervising lessons during short- and long-term teacher absences. You will work with KS3 and KS4 pupils, delivering pre-set work and maintaining effective classroom routines.
This is an ideal opportunity for candidates looking to build experience in education or secure flexible, ongoing supply work.
Core Responsibilities
- Supervise lessons using pre-prepared materials
* Apply behaviour policies and maintain classroom order
* Keep pupils focused and on task
* Follow safeguarding and school procedures
* Communicate effectively with teaching staff
Required Skills & Behaviours
- Confident classroom and behaviour management
* Clear, assertive communication
* Consistent application of expectations
* Ability to adapt across subjects and year groups
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with secondary-aged students
* Degree-level education or equivalent (desirable)
* Understanding of safeguarding requirements
* Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
