Monarch Education are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Derby supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties.
This is a full-time role with consistent hours, suited to candidates who are confident working in SEN and able to support personal care needs.
About the Role
You will support pupils on a one to one and small group basis, helping them access learning, develop independence and engage positively throughout the school day.
This role includes personal care and requires a calm, patient and professional approach.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with SLD in class and during activities
Assist with tailored learning and communication strategies
Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
Encourage engagement, routine and positive behaviour
Work closely with teachers and support staff
Requirements
Experience working with SEN or SEND
Confident supporting personal care
Patient, reliable and resilient
Strong communication skills
Background in education or care is desirable
