Monarch Education are working with a specialist SEND school in Birmingham City Centre to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant. This role involves supporting primary and secondary-aged pupils with Autism and complex needs in a structured and supportive learning environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
  • Work with students with Autism (ASC) and complex needs
  • Support delivery of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Assist with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Support pupils with sensory needs and daily routines
  • Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN professionals

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working with SEND pupils (Autism and complex needs)
  • Ability to support primary and secondary-aged students
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs
  • Available to work full-time on a long-term basis
